UPV-M feels concerned about the future of students and has decided to carry out regular surveys on occupational integration. An inquiry is made into the situations of all bachelor and master graduates 6, 18 and 30 months after graduation.

The figures below show how the 2007 graduates fared after graduation.

As per Feb. 2009 the average occupational integration rate of the 2007 students was 90 %.

A work-oriented bachelors graduate out of two has a
net monthly salary of over ? 1500 ; one out of 4 of
over ? 1 800. More than 8 out of 10 such graduates
have a job matching their qualification, and more than
3 out of 4 a job matching their speciality.





One out of two masters graduate has a net monthly
salary of ? 1800 or more; one out of four of ? 2200.
More than 3 out of 4 such graduates declare having a
job matching their qualification and more than 7 out
of 10 matching their speciality.





The BAIP as a facilitator for occupational integration

The BAIP (Office for Occupational Integration) was created in 2009 as the result of close cooperation between the 4 Lorraine universities; its purpose is to offer a wide range of actions and initiatives designed to facilitate occupational integration. In practical terms, the BAIP works as an intermediary between the university and the companies and aims to achieve full networking of the various institutions and experts involved in the actions carried out for occupational integration.

Actions carried out by the BAIP :

  • Student-oriented action
    The BAIP :
  • offer training courses whose purpose is to help students delineate a career project ;
  • organise and animate workshops about the features of the world of work, the features of the labour markets and their operational modes, etc. ;
  • collect and posts offers for internships, work placements, jobs ;
  • provides assistance when creating a résumé, a letter of intent ;
  • organises mock job interviews ;
  • provides information about business creation.


  • Company-oriented action
    The BAIP :
  • gives information about the academic programs and specific areas of competence promoted by the Metz University for the benefit of HR officers and businesses concerned ;
  • organises student-company meetings and career explorer events, job dating sessions, forums.


Developing outward bound partnerships

  • The BAIP also works to assist in the process of :
  • making agreements with various partners, including local authorities, employers' organisations, chambers of commerce and industry, managers of employment relations;
  • creating connections with businesses via the Comité d'orientation université-entreprise régional with members representing the 4 Lorraine universities and the industry.
