The teams and members of the CEGUM are conducting research on the issues of planning and territorial management and  on specification of the logics to be applied to the spatialisation and regionalisation of natural and human geographical phenomena on margin and border territories.

The CEGUM is part of the Doctorale College PIEMES Written documents, Media, Spaces, Societies, Law, and belongs to the Faculty of Human Sciences and Arts (U.F.R. Sciences humaines et Arts).

The team has 3 professors, 9 senior lecturers and lecturers, 6 associate research fellows, 3 engineers, 14 PhD under progress (see list of members of the Centre).

The laboratory is located in the building of the Faculty of Human Sciences and Arts (UFR SHA) of the Université Paul Verlaine-Metz, Campus of Saulcy Island (Ile du Saulcy)
